At the commencement of a new financial year, an employee has one important financial task to do, calculating their provident fund balance. A fixed contribution of 12 percent of basic salary is made by an employee towards the provident fund account every month.
An equal amount is contributed by the employee and employer toward the Employee Provident Fund or EPF. It acts as a saviour for the employee as they can avail of it upon retirement or if they switch jobs.
