What are Decentralized Applications (DApps)?

Decentralized applications (dapps) are applications that run on a peer-to-peer network of computers rather than a single computer or server. They use decentralized systems to store, send and receive tokens.

Decentralized applications use smart contracts, which are pieces of code that execute automatically when certain criteria are met, to govern their operation. This allows them to operate autonomously without the need for human intervention or oversight.
