Medical Visa for India is granted to foreigners who wish to undertake medical treatment in recognized/reputed hospitals in India. The Medical Visa is valid for the duration of medical treatment or 60 days, whichever is less. The visa may be extended up to one year by the FRRO/FRO concerned on the basis of a letter from the treating hospital. A foreigner who has been diagnosed with a life-threatening disease or serious ailment and has been advised of medical treatment in India by a specialist doctor in India may be considered for a grant of Medical Visa India.
