The Process of Planning a Proposal

A proposal can be done in many different ways and it can be spontaneous or planned. If you opt to go for the latter, then it is a good idea to begin the planning process early as this way it will likely increase the chances of the proposal being everything you wanted and maybe even more.

A ring

Before you begin planning the proposal, it will be a good idea to first get a ring. Getting a ring can be a stressful process as you want to ensure that the ring you place on your partner’s hand is the perfect one as he or she will be wearing it for the rest of their life.

Therefore, do not rush the process and buy the first ring that you see. Especially if you know your partner has a certain type of ring in mind, then taking your time would be a good idea. For instance, if you know your partner wants a ring with a pink stone then purchasing an argyle pink diamond ring will likely make him or her very happy.

How do you want to do it?

Once you have purchased the ring you can then set about deciding how exactly you want to propose. Do you want to propose in public or do you want it to be a private occasion? When you are making this decision, it is important to take into consideration what you think your partner will like. If your partner is someone who likes having friends and family around for important moments, then proposing with other people around such as close friends and family is a good idea.

However, if your partner likes private moments to just be private between the two of you then it is not a good idea to have anyone else around. It would instead be a good idea to make the proposal a private one and you can always celebrate with friends and family later.

The time

Before you decide on the location you should ideally first think about the time of day you want to propose. For instance, if you want to propose to your partner on the beach, then the evening or early morning before the sun comes up would likely be the best time. Proposing on the beach in the middle of the afternoon under the hot sun may not be the best idea.

This is because you both may be uncomfortable due to the heat and may not be able to stand barefoot on the sand as the sand could be too hot to stand barefoot. Therefore, to ensure the moment is not ruined because of external factors such as the heat, take into account the time of day when you pick the location.

The location

Once you have decided on a time you can pick a location accordingly. It is best to plan ahead and not book a restaurant or hotel at the last minute because especially if you want the place to yourself. For example, if you want to propose on a hotel rooftop at sunset, making a reservation for the entire rooftop on the day of the proposal will most likely not be possible. However, if you were to plan ahead it will increase the chances of the proposal being everything you wanted it to be.
